What we do instead is make the information you would need legible: what the market looks like, how your options compare on the criteria you set, what has to be true for a project to work, and which questions are still open when we finish.

Every engagement opens with a written scope: the questions, the sources we will use, the shape of the deliverable and the fee. Nothing starts until that document is agreed.
Research then runs in the open. When we make a judgement about comparability, market boundaries or risk, it goes into the assumptions log rather than staying in our heads.
